Gay Rights Pioneer Frank Kameny’s (2nd from left in photo of 1965 White House Protestors below) D.C. home was this week listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  The activist, whose early strategies continue to shape LGBT activism, passed away in October. 
A notorius packrat, Kameny’s papers were accessioned into the Library of Congress in 2006, and in 2007 some of his homemade protest signs and buttons went on display in the arbiter of U.S. history—the Smithsonian Institute’s Museum of American History. Article linked above.
